MS-Word 2007 Screen Window


1. Title Bar - This strip shows name of document on which you are working and the program name which you are using

2. Groups - each tab is divided into logical groups of buttons. The most popular buttons show in the ribbon. Some groups have additional options that are accessed by clicking a launcher.
3. Close Button – to close the the screen of active window
4. Minimize Button - to reduce the screen of active window
5. Maximize Button – to enlarge the the screen of active window
6. Screen Split Button- let you split your screen in two when double clicked.
7. Right Indent – slide this triangle to the left of margin to limit the right side of the paragraph. To extend beyond the margin going left or right margin.
8. Scroll Bars - The bars which are located on far right or bottom of window. They are used to view different portions of document.
9. View Shortcuts- these five buttons allow you to change the way you view your document on screen, from left to right.
10. Zoom Slide- allows you to increase/decrease the amount of the document you see on the screen.
11. Rulers - These two rulers appear below the ribbon and are used for margins, tab settings, indents and table rows. You can also align text, images and tables with them.
12. Quick Launch Bar/ Dialog Box Launcher - clicking the launcher icon opens dialog boxes and task panes.
13. Task Bar- display or show the open program list.
14. Start Button- Start is also a command line command that enables a user to start a separate window in Windows from the Windows command line.
15. Status Bar - This is horizontal stripe at bottom of program window and it gives information about the document.
16. Document/Text Area/Window- It looks like white sheet of paper. All keying and editing is done in this area.
17.Insertion Point - Vertical blinking line in document window where data can be pasted.
18. Hanging Indent- A hanging indent is an indentation where the first line sticks out to the left and the rest of the paragraph is indented.
19. Firstline Indent - The starting position of the first line of the paragraph is shifted (usually inward) in relation to the left margin.
20. Ribbon – Is a set of all tabs and their groups, working has become easy, fast and efficient because we do not need to search any command in buried menus.
21. Tabs - Tabs always in view include Home, Insert, Page Layout, References, Mailings, Review, and View. The Add-Ins tab is visible when you have add-ins installed.
22. Office Button - the hides the Office menu and Word options menu. Click this button to find the open, save, print, and other menu items.
23. Quick Access Toolbar- is a customizable toolbar that shows either above or below the ribbon. It is always in view even when the ribbon is minimized.
