How to Limit PayPal

If you sign up for an online subscription service that requires regular but variable payments, you'll need to authorize this service to charge your PayPal account on a regular basis. Some people might be uncomfortable with the idea of giving relatively open access to their PayPal accounts. You can prevent fraud and control your outgoing PayPal payments by setting an upper payment limit for transactions on PayPal. This prevents the service provider from charging your PayPal account by more than your set limit.

Instructions:
1. Log into your PayPal account. This opens the Account Overview page.
2. Click the "View All My Transactions Link" above the account pane. Click the "Payments Sent" button.
3. Locate a transaction for the service provider for which you want to set the PayPal limit. Click the "Details" link beside the service provider's name.
4. Click the "View Payment Agreement Details" link.
5. Scroll to the "Bill Term" section, then click the "Edit Billing Limit" link. Type your preferred limit into the input box. Click the "Save" button to save and implement the PayPal limit.
