How to Hook Your Computer Up to a TV Using a VGA-to-HDMI Cable ?
Connect a computer to a TV with an adaptor cable.
Although Video Graphics Array (VGA) has long been the way to hook computers up to televisions, newer HDTVs lack a VGA port. Newer HDTVs require an HDMI cable. If your computer does not have an HDMI output, you can connect your computer to your TV with a VGA-to-HDMI converter cable.
Instructions
1. Connect the VGA cable to the VGA-to-HDMI converter. Screw both of the pins into the VGA-to-HDMI cable securely.
2. Turn off your computer and your HDTV.
3. Plug the HDMI end of the cable into the “HDMI” input port on the HDTV.
4. Connect the VGA end of the cable into the “VGA” port on your computer. Screw both of the pins of the VGA cable into the computer so that the cable is secure.
5. Turn on your computer and your HDTV. Press the “Input” button on your HDTV to go to the HDMI source. Your computer's desktop will appear on the HDTV.
